Ability Descriptions for your Registration form:
Newbie: This may be the first time you have ever been on skis of any kind. You are not sure how to put your skis on or how to generate forward movement.
Beginner: Beginners have some experience on skis, but are far from feeling comfortable on Skate skis. You have some sense of balance on skis and have some experience with forward movement, though you have not learned specific Skate technique.
Intermediate 1: The Intermediate 1 skier can Skate ski a 3km-5km loop and have a developing sense of balance and Skate technique including V1 hill climbing technique
Intermediate 2: Intermediate 2 skiers are comfortable skating a 5km or longer trail, and utilize both V1 and V2 Skate techniques.
Advanced: The Advanced skier shows a mastery of V1, V2 and V2 alternate Skate techniques. This skier is fine tuning technique, working on efficiency and speed.
Unknown: Maybe you have a ton of experience Alpine skiing, or Speed skating, but are new to Skate Skiing. Coaches will evaluate your skiing on the first and second session and help you find the correct group.
